Groups 2: a useful application for organizing your data. Excellent delete functions.

I once said I wanted an application that can delete contact data really fast…than I got a reply in a sec. That’s why I like twitter!!

I was recommended this application called groups 2 for organizing my contact data. The main function of this application is dividing contacts into groups and sending e-mails by group.

But for me, who accidentally uploaded too many contacts from my gmail, this delete function was heaven. UI is also great and can be used as an alternative.

Here’s the first screen and the main menu.
You can see all your contacts. I want to delete some of my contacts so I’ll go to the button “i” on the upper right.

From group settings, go to “manage groups”. Order your groups and put those who you want to delete in the trash.

Then, press and hold on the data you don’t need and drag it on the Trash tab to the left.

Let’s keep on deleting. Turn off the “Drop Confirmation” on the settings to make it faster.
Tap and hold the trash button to delete (It also deletes it from your iPhone contact list!)

Let’s keep on organizing!

I’ll explain the main functions of this application now.

According to “Help”, this application’s main functions is grouping contacts and registering groups fast and easy.
Of course, it’s very easy and fast to register your contacts.
You can send emails to groups members all at once (Cc, Bcc settings are easy too!),
You can search contacts from their tel. numbers,
There’s a Smart group where you can put contacts without an address, tel. no, name, and so on
I like the trash can best!!

Easy operation using drags. Here’s how to batch drag.
Place 2 fingers on the list, Choose the data you want to drag at the same time, tap and hold it, and move it to where you want to.

Aha! I can use this trick to delete faster!

Tap and hold on a group that you want to group mail. (select “Mail Group”)
1.Tap to choose who you want or don’t want to send the email. You can also set Cc, Bcc by contact.
2. When you’re ready, tap Compose to write your email.

Search Everything

You can search your contacts by names or by other data (you can change them from the settings).
Tap “+” to register a new group of a new contact.
Tap “Keypad” to search tel.numbers.
You can also add the number you inserted here.

There’s also a “Face View”.
It’s easy to organize contacts that are even listed in several groups.
You can change the color of the group tabs!!

So let’s try using this application now.
I’m a bit nervous to use my own contact list for this…

Search a contact from the search window.
Tap on the keypad to search a number. So fast!

You can easily add a contact from this application.
I just created a new group, Appbank. The small dot 1 that you see next to Economy Trap means that he belongs to 1 group.

I’ll show you how to delete contacts using batch drag.

First, you’ll get “x”s like this when you place your 2 fingers on the list.
Tap on the contact to select.

Place your finger on one of the sections and throw it to the trash when it becomes orange. Tap on “Empty Trash” to delete it completely!

This how it is when you tap and hold a group tab. Select “Mail Group”.
Tap on each section to change the settings. So easy!

Tap “Compose” to go to your iPhone mail. You can see that the contacts are saved.

Go to settings and tap on the “Manually” tab from “Manage group” to change the colors of each group.

It’s looking nicer now!

It’s my first time to use an application like this, but I think it’s definitely a great app for sending group mails, organizing and mass-deleting (due to uploading all contacts from gmail…).

From the easy new sorting system, I think this application is worth it. Also, this design is nice.
